The development and direction of textile materials are introduced. The high-tech material, high performance materials, composite materials and smart materials used in textile and clothing areas are analyzed respectively. It is expected for students to obtain the knowledge of technology, production processes, performance characters and main design factors of the new developed materials.

本课程主要讨论近期出现的已可用于各种服装的新素材。包括各种新型天然纤维、新型合成纤维、新型再生纤维素纤维和再生蛋白质纤维等。 通过本课程学习，使学生在了解各种新型纤维的结构和性能特点的同时，为今后在服装新材料的认识应用与开创方面打下一定的基础。
