This course builds on the introduction to clothing related to fashion supply chain, clothing materials, production engineering, marketing and quality control used in the fashion industry. By learning the process in the whole fashion supply chain, the students can have a full recognition of the garment technologies from idea to product. This course helps them to handle theoretical knowledge as a base of the future garment technology course in high level. Moreover, the study in this course will emphasize the use of the professional language in English, while it will make the student to practice English in profession level of fashion industry.

本课程从服装的产业链概况、服装材料、服装生产加工过程、服装的整理与检验、服装营销和服装质量控制等不同的角度介绍服装设计人员应该具备的素质和知识。通过本课程的学习可以对服装设计与生产的全部环节有一个大致的了解，为今后的专业课程学习打下基础。在教学中强调英语专业词汇的理解和使用，在学习专业知识的同时掌握一定数量的专业英语词汇。
